Loved the experience, great vibes, great DJ, great weather, awesome promoters. Lucky, the promoter took care of me (as a solo female traveler, sometimes you need an extrovert to hype you up and include you) ! Owner was also there to oversee everything and make sure that everyone is having a good time!

Many thanks for a wonderful day! Despite the guide's absence, the boat's driver calmly and professionally handled both navigation and explanations. His constant attention to the wind and the sometimes turbulent conditions made the tour all the more impressive. An unforgettable experience, combining scenic beauty and boat handling. Well done to him

Loved the variety of stops and the swimming opportunities. The small group (11 of us) was the perfect size. Communication with the tour guide prior to the trip was good. Would highly recommend this great day out

The music was perfect and the weather joined us! Marco and the sailor were really kind and friendly and the food was really good with the free white wine! The restaurant was perfect! Everything was fine. Only the email from Headout stated a starting location, which was not correct. And it was also written that you had to be there by 7.00am. It was not clear to me that the departure point had been changed and that the time for the meeting point had also been changed to 7.15 am. This made the start very hectic for me! Best regards

Your adventure starts with a thrilling ride across the Adriatic, passing dramatic coastlines and open sea before reaching Hvar and the nearby Pakleni islets. The approach alone is stunning- pine-covered islands scattered across turquoise waters.

Sandy beaches & hidden lagoons

The Pakleni Islands are best known for Palmizana Bay, a sandy stretch perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Beyond that, you’ll find quiet lagoons and coves like Zdrilca and Mlini, where the waters are crystal clear and less crowded.

Beach clubs & seaside dining

From stylish beach clubs like Laganini to family-run konobas, the Pakleni Islands balance lively social spots with authentic island flavors. Whether you want a cocktail with a view or freshly grilled seafood, you’ll find it here.

Scenic exploration

Every corner of the Pakleni chain is photogenic. Expect plenty of time to explore by foot or simply relax by the shore while capturing Instagram-worthy shots of pine forests, turquoise lagoons, and sailing boats moored offshore.

Duration & pacing

Most day trips allow 2-3 hours at the Pakleni Islands, giving you a good balance between relaxing on the beach, snorkeling, and enjoying a meal. On longer tours, you may combine the islands with stops at Hvar, the Blue Cave, and the Blue Lagoon for a fuller experience.

Things to know before booking your Pakleni Island Tours

  • Full-day experience: Both tours run about 10-11 hours, with early departures from Split Riva (sometimes Trogir or Podstrana). You’ll cover the Blue Cave, Vis (Stiniva Bay), Budikovac’s Blue Lagoon, the Pakleni Islands, and Hvar in one itinerary.
  • Boat types: Standard tours use speedboats - fast, adventurous, and good for maximizing stops. The deluxe tour offers a larger, more stable vessel with shaded seating, meals, and drinks included- better suited for comfort, groups, or families.
  • Blue Cave entry: Access depends on sea conditions; it may be closed on rough days.
  • What’s included: All tours provide a skipper/guide, safety gear, and snorkeling equipment. Deluxe tours also include food, drinks, and sometimes towels, while standard tours typically only cover transport and snorkeling gear.
  • What to bring: Swimwear, towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and a light jacket for the return ride. Bring cash for cave tickets (if not included), meals, or extras.

  • Time: ~10–11 hours (full-day)
  • Best For: Hassle-free experience with expert guides, families, and first-time visitors

Independent travelers can take a ferry from Split to Hvar Town (catamarans run several times daily, ~1.5 hours). From Hvar harbor, small water taxis leave every 15–20 minutes to Palmizana Bay on the Pakleni Islands.

  • Time: ~2 hours from Split to Hvar + 10–15 min water taxi
  • Cost: Ferry ~€20 one-way + water taxi €5–10
  • Best For: Travelers who want flexibility and more time based in Hvar

For a more exclusive experience, you can hire a private speedboat or yacht from Split or Hvar. Charters can be tailored to your preferences, including extra swimming stops, longer stays at beach clubs, or sunset cruises.

  • Best For: Groups or families looking for privacy and customization

Tips for visiting the Pakleni Islands

  • Best time to visit: The Pakleni Islands are at their best between May and September.
    • May-June & September: Warm seas, plenty of sunshine, and fewer crowds.
    • July-August: Peak season with a lively beach-club vibe, higher prices, and busier coves.
    • Morning Departures: Seas are calmer and beaches less crowded, making early tours the best choice for relaxation.
  • Bring cash: Many beach bars and taverns on the islands still prefer cash over cards. ATMs are only available in Hvar Town, not on the smaller islets.
  • Choose your tour style: Speedboat tours are adventurous and cover more islands, while deluxe boats offer shaded seating, drinks, and meals for comfort. Private charters give the most flexibility.
  • Pack essentials: Carry swimwear, towel, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. Some tours provide snorkeling gear, but bring your own for the best fit.
  • Stay hydrated: Drinks are available on the islands, but they can be pricey. Bring a reusable water bottle or take advantage of tours that include drinks.
  • Reserve beach clubs in advance: Popular spots like Laganini Beach Club fill up quickly in summer. If you want a sunbed or table, it’s best to book ahead.
  • Plan return transport: If traveling independently via water taxis from Hvar Town, check return times before heading out- boats may run less frequently outside peak season.
