Loved the experience, great vibes, great DJ, great weather, awesome promoters. Lucky, the promoter took care of me (as a solo female traveler, sometimes you need an extrovert to hype you up and include you) ! Owner was also there to oversee everything and make sure that everyone is having a good time!

Many thanks for a wonderful day! Despite the guide's absence, the boat's driver calmly and professionally handled both navigation and explanations. His constant attention to the wind and the sometimes turbulent conditions made the tour all the more impressive. An unforgettable experience, combining scenic beauty and boat handling. Well done to him

Loved the variety of stops and the swimming opportunities. The small group (11 of us) was the perfect size. Communication with the tour guide prior to the trip was good. Would highly recommend this great day out

Everything was fine. Only the email from Headout stated a starting location, which was not correct. And it was also written that you had to be there by 7.00am. It was not clear to me that the departure point had been changed and that the time for the meeting point had also been changed to 7.15 am. This made the start very hectic for me! Best regards

Multiple starting point

Begin your speedboat adventure from Split, Trogir, or Podstrana. To reach the Blue Lagoon, you have multiple tour options, making it flexible for different schedules and budgets.

5 Island visit

The Blue Lagoon lies near Budikovac Island, usually after stops at Biševo, Vis, and before Hvar. Across these five islands, expect caves, coves, vineyards, harbors, and bays worth exploring.

Why go

The Blue Lagoon’s shallow, sandy seabed reflects sunlight to create its glowing turquoise hue. Calm waters, easy swimming, and vibrant marine life make it one of Croatia’s most distinctive snorkeling spots.

Good to know

Pebble beaches require water shoes, shade is limited, and the lagoon is popular in summer. Carry sunscreen, stay hydrated, and bring snorkeling gear if not included.

Return journey

After your swim and island-hopping, reboard your speedboat for a breezy ride back across the Adriatic, usually reaching Split, Trogir, or Podstrana by early evening.

Must-see highlights of Budikovac’s Blue Lagoon

Budikovac Beach

Right beside the Blue Lagoon lies Budikovac’s quiet pebble beach, where the turquoise shallows lap against the shore. It’s the kind of spot where you can wade straight off the boat for a swim, soak up the sun, or just float with hardly anyone around.

Rustic Konoba

Tucked on the tiny island is a family-run konoba, the only one here serving up simple Dalmatian dishes. Ask for grilled fish, octopus salad, and a cold local wine, all enjoyed with sea views. It’s a no-fuss place that feels like stepping back in time.

Small Islet Views

What makes the lagoon so photogenic are the tiny rocky islets that rise around it, breaking up the horizon. From the boat you’ll spot rugged stone outcrops, pine-fringed patches, and endless shades of blue.

Marine Life

Slip on a mask and you’ll see why the lagoon is a snorkeler’s dream. Clear waters reveal shoals of silver fish, curious wrasse darting between rocks, and even the occasional starfish clinging to the seabed. It’s a glimpse of the Adriatic’s quieter underwater world.

You’ll be also visiting

Hvar

Hvar has a bit of everything. You'll find Renaissance squares, Venetian fortresses, chic bars, and lavender fields rolling inland. By day it’s a sun-drenched island with crystal coves; by night, its harborside comes alive with music, cocktails, and that unmistakable Adriatic buzz.

Biševo

Best known for the Blue Cave, Biševo feels remote and almost untouched. Beyond the glowing grotto, the island hides quiet vineyards and rugged trails. It’s tiny (less than 20 square kilometers) yet full of raw Dalmatian charm that makes every visit feel off-the-beaten-path.

Pakleni Islands

Just across from Hvar Town, the Pakleni chain is a cluster of pine-scented islets. Some beaches hum with beach clubs and loungers, while others stay wild and empty. Sailors love them, swimmers linger, and everyone agrees the waters here might just be the bluest you’ll ever see.

Vis

Vis is the quiet elder of the Dalmatian islands, once closed off to outsiders as a military base. Today it’s all vineyards, hidden coves, and slow island living. Visit this island for fresh seafood, old stone houses, and a pace that makes you forget Split is just a ferry away.

Best time to visit: The best time to visit Budikovac’s Blue Lagoon is between May and September, when the Dalmatian coast enjoys warm, calm seas perfect for swimming and snorkeling. July and August bring peak crowds and vibrant nightlife in nearby Hvar, while late spring and early autumn offer quieter coves and milder heat.

Types of boat: Most of the tours offer modern speedboats for your full-day tour. If you are opting for a private tour then you'll be boarding in a luxury vessel perfect for island-hopping.

Facilities: Expect shaded seating, safety gear, bottled water, and snorkeling equipment on board. Some tours include towels, drinks, or lunch stops at island restaurants.

  • Arrive prepared for sun: Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. The Adriatic sun can be intense, especially on the open boat and while swimming.
  • Swimwear & towels: Pack your swimsuit and quick-dry towel; the lagoon’s shallow turquoise waters are perfect for a refreshing dip.
  • Snorkeling essentials: Most tours provide gear, but consider bringing your own mask or fins if you prefer a custom fit.
  • Expect some boat motion: The ride to Budikovac can have choppy waters; those prone to seasickness should bring motion-sickness tablets.
  • Stay hydrated: Carry a water bottle; while some tours provide bottled water, long sun-soaked swims and island exploration can be dehydrating.
  • Plan your timing: Morning visits tend to be calmer and less crowded. Plus, it's the perfect time for seeing the Blue Cave at its best.
